Do I choose In-Person or Remote Filming?
Our company, Soulbox Productions, is based in the DFW area of Texas. We recommend in-person filming if your loved one is in the DFW area. We can travel anywhere in the state of Texas (travel fees do apply). If your loved one is out of state, we have created a state-of-the-art, plug-and-play Remote Filming Kit. We will still be with you every step of the way and help guide your loved one through the interview via Zoom or Facetime. We have a limited number of Remote Filming Kits, so CONTACT us today to receive one.
Will you conduct the interview?
We completely understand if it’s more comfortable for your loved one to have a family member conduct the interview. That being said, we would be honored to lead the interview. Either way, we are with you every step of the way. We are your guides, keeping the interview on track.

How long is the interview?
The interview is typically 60 to 90 minutes in length. We find any longer than that and most elderly family members become tired. We do request having your loved one prepare their answers to the questions before the interview. When we have a copy of the questions and answers, it allows us to help keep the interview on track. If needed, additional time can be added to the interview.
How do I prepare for my Family Film?
After you book us, we'll conduct a meeting via phone or Zoom and schedule the interview time and location. We will also answer any questions you may have and give suggestions on what your loved one should wear for the interview. All this information is in our A Life in Film Guidebook. What happens after my loved one’s interview?
After the interview, we’ll set up a secure Dropbox folder on our Soulbox business account for you to upload all of your scanned photos, and we’ll begin editing and correcting the photos to implement into the film. If you need help with photos, there are options and step-by-step instructions in our Guidebook.

How do you create an audiobook?
We export out your Family Film’s audio and add meta data and a cover photo. This is what you see on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes for an audiobook’s cover and description. We also add chapter markers for easy and quick progress retrieval.
How do you create an eBook and Hardcover?
We transcribe your finished Family Film’s audio into a Word document. We then adjust it for readability and comprehension, separating it into chapters for easy reading. After you’ve approved the book (i.e. making sure names are spelled correctly), we professionally design the layout of your Family eBook just like you see on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
For the Hardcover, we send your approved eBook to a professional printing house.
How will I recieve my Family Film?
Your Family Film is delivered digitally and password-protected on our professional Vimeo account. We completely understand and respect your privacy if you don't want your Family Film online. You will also receive three Flash Drives to share with other family members. Each personal drive contains:
- Your edited, 30-45 minute Family Film
- 50-60 original and professionally cleaned photos
- Your Family Film’s uncompressed audio file and Family Audiobook
- Your Family eBook ready to read on any digital device (including Kindle)
- Your Family Hardcover Book (a new service, FREE for a limited time)

What is the investment price?
Investments for cherished Family Films (in-person or remote filming) begin at $4000 plus tax, which includes the 60-90 minute interview, 30-45 minute Family Film, Audiobook, eBook, and Hardcover.
The investment also includes our 25-plus years of video production experience and our professional gear. We spend over 80 hours of post-production time creating your treasured mementos to share throughout the years and for future generations.
